Mushrooms and Bacon Cream Pasta

It's a very lazy afternoon. Didn't feel like cooking at all. But I must cook, as my son needs to eat!! So I made a quick and easy meal for him, which is his all time favourite - Mushrooms and Bacon Cream pasta.

I fried some crispy chicken for him to go with his pasta as well as some Rocket leaves.

.

Ingredients:

Penne 50g

*

Fresh milk 1 cup

Sliced Cheese 1slice

Chopped Garlic 1/2 tbsp

Chopped Onion 2 tbsp

Swiss mushroom 30g (sliced)

Streaky Bacon 3 slices (cut into small pieces)

Corn Kernel 3 tbsp

.

Method:

1. Boil pasta till it's cooked.

2. In a pot with oil and fry the onion and garlic till it's soft. Add in bacon pieces. Continue to fry till bacon is a little brown and fragrance. Throw in mushroom and cook for about 2 minutes, followed by corn. Cook them for another 3 minutes, and pour in milk and the cheese.

3. Give it a little stir once in a while before it's boiled. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. When it's done, just pour the cream sauce over the pasta and serve.

Comments

Most pple cook creamy pasta with cream but like you, I cook mine with milk. However, I thicken the sauce by cooking butter with flour first, then add in milk and cook till thickened, then add in cooked bacon & mushrooms. This is such a quick and easy way to cook up a meal ;-)

And thanks for the reminder, I've not cooked this for a long time.

BH,

I don't have cream in the ridge all the time, and some times I find the cream can be too rich for an afternoon meal. on top of that , my son loves to drink up the sauce!! So I thought better not use cream nor thicken the sauce if I can.
