New Toys ....

These are some of the baking tools bought during my Paris and London trip and I got theme from E. Dehillerin. The French wire rack (extreme right) I got it from Summerill & Bishop in London. Love the rustic look, do you? The wire rack was the last piece left in the shop, and I was hoping they will have new stock in different sizes coming in, but the owner told me there will not be any as the supplier stop producing this beautiful wire rack. I know there are some part of the world still selling this French style wire rack, but I have no idea where can I get it. If any one has any suggestions please do drop by and let me know.

This is a tray mold for making a type of French dessert/ pastry called 'Cat's Tongue' . The gentlemen in the shop was kind to explain to me in his French accent English which I always love to hear!!  I have never tasted any 'Cat's Tongue' neither do I have a recipe to make them. If anyone of you do have a good recipe, please share with me?

Cathy, 鲸鱼蓝蓝蓝,

Yes, I went all the way there just for this lovely wire rack! And I was lucky to find it with just one last one left in the shop. and the shop owner said there will not be any new one coming in as the supplier stop making them!! what a pity!.

Hmm, wondering if mrs roger tan was the algae bread commentor ages ago?
I guess mrs roger tan has no idea what is "SHARING".

Cosy Bake, I feel your joy with the new toys. And thanks for SHARING with us. Is the scalloped scoop a butter shaper/scooper/roller. Haha, whatever that is called.

I know the Donna Hay store in Sydney has the rack, cos Kokken69 told me she bought one there. Hope you can get more when you visit Sydney

Wendy,
Ha Ha...! I had the same thought that this 'Mrs Tan' is that algae eater comnentor too!! Somehow some people just couldn't get on with their lives, and living in miseries. Well, the more she being such a negative seoul the more she is going to attract the same miseries into her live. Pity her.... Hope she'd change her mindset and start to see positive things come to her live.

The scalloped scoop can be a melon scooper, butter shaper or cookie dough shaper. The French guy said whatever I could think of!

Thanks for sharing the info. If my hubby ever get to go to Sydney I shall get him to check out Dona Hay. Big big thank! :)

Hi Cosy Bake,

Just to let you know that you can purchase it online from Donna Hay as I bought mine online too.

Great stuff you'd got there!
Happy Baking :)

Karen,

I have checked out Donna Hay's website and saw the same wire rack! But it costs much more than what I paid for mine. Thanks so much sharing the information! :)

Karen,

I have been trying to visit your blog, however the site keep saying ''Profile not available''. How can I view your blog??

Hi Cosy Bake,

Maybe the wire rack that Donna Hay sells originated from where you'd purchased and thus the mark up. It is costly indeed, but, it was love at first sight and I had to own that. A common trait for bake ware lover I guess? ^_^

I'd kept my profile as private before but now changed.

Karen,

Yes, I can't agree more than what yiu said ! I firstnsaw this rack on magazine, and after I found out where they sells it, I knew I am going to get it! So I made all the effort .... Ha aha... I guess only the bake ware lovers would understand.

I shall check out your blog!
